Ozzy's reputation

Question:

I think you took what I said wrong. I absolutely agree with you that my world would not be the same without Ozzy in it. I love him and yes the way he truly loves his fans is endearing. But my point is just that I hate the way the show portrays him. To people that don’t know and love him like you and I and most of us here in AMO, it’s making him look pathetic. THAT’s my point.

That was what Dio was talking about in the article in the other thread, the whole Ozzy *mystique* has been totally shattered by this terrible show.  I still love him, but really don’t think they should be taping him when he’s stumbling around falling down drunk trying to fish in the ocean; and they have to have a bodyguard follow him around to make sure he doesn’t fall down and drown.  I do feel that he is a very intelligent man, but he has medical problems that make him appear as though he is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease (no I’m not saying that what he has, it’s what he looks like). And the whole thing was just brought about to help launch careers for those two no-talent twits Jack and Kelly.  It just sucks, period.

There is only one Ozzy Osbourne and there will only ever be one Ozzy Osbourne. One of the most sincere and funniest entertainers around. Always try’s to put his fans first & doesn’t forget his back ground or where he comes from. Obviously he has developed some health problems in recent years, but so what, he still is able to bring a smile to peoples faces, just by being himself and still performs for his audience on stage. Lets face it, he has enough cash to have stopped years ago, but he chooses to carry on and all credit to him. On TV, he doesn’t play up to the cameras, like others would & do, (you seen Anna Nicole Smith show for example), or come the big star (Jennifer Lopez, Whitney Houston etc) and demand special attention at every public appearance. I once saw Ozzy after one of his gigs in the UK, on the Bark at the Moon tour. He signed autographs and chatted with the fans till 2am. He had my full admiration and respect after that, for putting his fans first and as far as I am aware, continues to do so. The world would be a much more boring place without the likes of Ozzy Osbourne. Long live the King.

My brother stopped over yesterday. I think I have explained before that he was the one that originally got me into Ozzy? Well anyway he was. I asked him what he thought about the new Osbourne show this season and much to my surprise he said "I didn’t even know it was on yet!?" So I showed him bits of the last two episodes I had on tape. He was really upset and couldn’t believe how pathetic they were making Ozzy out to be. He said that he used to think Ozzy was the coolest guy on earth, now he doesn’t think of him that way. He said "I thought he wrote his music and stuff for years but he can’t even talk or use a tv remote so I’m sure he can’t write that stuff".  It just brought to life how many other people are feeling the same way about Ozzy now. If someone I knew to admire him so much for as long as I could remember suddenly lose all that admiration. It’s really sad. -=Gia=-
