Ozzy's Greatest fan ???

Question:

<<I am very excited that Katie got the chance to meet Ozzy Osbourne and I went to her site and checked out all the pictures too Thank you. :) It sucks when people get mad at me. I mean really, I didn’t have any control over it. Ah well… ~Katie p.s. Scanned in the pics from the show and behind the curtains, but alas! AOL sucks and it’s not letting me publish my page!! I’ll have them up ASAP.

Response:

>>I’m sure we’re all a bit jealous and envious of

Katie, but more than anything else, I’m just excited that one of us got a chance to meet the guy. << Thanks Randy. :) ~Katie

Response:

Don’t let people like this get you down Katie.  You did a fantastic job and you deserved to win.  Anybody who says otherwise are full of sour grapes and are losers, with a capital JERK. I can’t wait to see the new stuff on your webpage.  And when did Ozzy call you?  What did he say? RAT

Response:

<<And why do you want to rain on this teenage girl’s parade publically when you don’t even know her? Doesn’t this person have any pride or any dignity?>> Exactly Suzanne. I’d be happy for anyone who won. VERY JEALOUS, but happy. :) It’s a true honor for anyone to meet him. << Who knows, maybe subconsciously, I was kind of scared.. that fear of success thing. Or maybe I just felt the time was not right, yet. (not that I’m saying I would have won but that obviously "watch what you wish for because you just might get it"!) This MTV thing seemed a slight bit too much.>> I felt the same way. The cameras, the bright lights..(etc. ) It was a bit overwhelming. <<If you like Ozzy so much then enjoy being his fan! Kick back, have a beer, listen to some Ozzy tunes and just chillout, man! Damn!>> Now thats what being an Ozzy fan is all about!! (minus the beer. lol. I’m not a drinker.)  :) ~Katie p.s. Suzanne, did you catch the show?

Response:

Since when is the degree of fan ranked by how much rare material owned or how many years of devotion?  One can be a great fan just by expressing that some kind of emotional connection was made with the celebrity’s work.  I think Katie has more than proved herself a huge fan of Ozzy.  Owning rare Black Sabbath material or having 25 years of devotion doesn’t necessarily make someone less or more of a fan.  Just about everybody in this newsgroup is a big fan of Ozzy.  I’m sure we’re all a bit jealous and envious of Katie, but more than anything else, I’m just excited that one of us got a chance to meet the guy.  Personally, I think that by saying something like "You suck because I’m a bigger fan…" you’re showing a lot of immaturity.     You nailed that one just right!  I am very excited that Katie got the chance to meet Ozzy Osbourne and I went to her site and checked out all the pictures too.  Yeah, I wish it would have been me, but I guess we can’t have everything.  I met Ozzy once before too, but only got a couple of pictures because it was at an autograph session right after the "Theater of Madness" show at the Cleveland Music Hall back about 1992. I think that people need to realise that no one is more of a fan just because he or she owns $10,000 worth of Ozzy/Sabbath stuff. Personally I have a framed Blizzard of Oz CD worth about $130, but that doesn’t make me more of a fan than the person who only has 2 of his CDs. And I agree that you owe her an apology as well.

Sad, isn’t it? 31 in body maybe, just not in mind. >I wouldn’t blame him if he was 13, but 31?!!  Man, I didn’t know the planet contained such losers.

You’d be surprised, over on alt.horror we had a guy who posted a message that said "H20 Opinion:Non-spoilers" and all the message contained was the ending of the movie. I was quite glad that I was never interested in Halloween:Water, otherwise that would have *really* pissed me off. Oh yeah, that’s because you would never be chosen.  Even though MTV sux most of the time, anyone with half a brain would choose someone nice like Katie instead of old-ass jealous loser dopehead scumbags like you to represent Ozzy.  I don’t care if you collect Ozzy’s shit in jars, if you don’t have the right attitude, then you’re no fan of Ozzy’s even though you think you are.

> I spend about $10 a month on Ozzy,

I don’t spend that much unless he has a new CD out… > this is just for the Internet access. I > don’t go buying singles, magazines or posters. This is due mainly to lack of money,

Likewise. > but MATERIAL possessions mean nothing. I have some rare stuff,

I don’t, most of my money goes to cards or obscure horror movies. > some unreleased stuff (ie. Bark at the Moon dance CD). Do we now measure Ozzy fans by how much commercial products they have accumulated? Mitch has a LOT of Ozzy stuff. In fact if I was ever in NJ, I’d break into his house :) Katie has a room full of stuff, my stuff would probably fit into a dresser.

Mine would fit into a sinle dresser drawer… > Yet, I consider myself to be a great big fan of his, I just don’t show it in material possessions.

Same here. > I see. You judge an Ozzy fan’s worth solely on what they own, bought, and thus bring with them to be signed. Maybe Katie doesn’t live at home, bumming off her parents. (Ok she does live at home but I’m sure she has monetary responsibilities too). Not all of us go out and buy every Ozzy trinket out there, gold disks included. I am a LARGE Ozzy fan, but I feel no desire to own every single video out there, or every single, every CD.

I have the remastered versions of each disc, plus Ozzman Cometh and Ozzmosis. That’s all I have, and all I really care about(exceptions, I’d kinda like One Up the B-Sides and Ozzy meets the Priest), singles don’t mean much to me. > My devotion comes from following his life, the latest news, running a FREE web page to him. To shell out money wouldn’t change my desire to know him more.

Yep. > Your message is plain and simple… sour grapes. If it was Mitch or myself interviewing Ozzy, there’d be some other asshole whining and complaining about how the interview was conducted. It’s just jealousy. Find MTV to pick someone, and the others will cry about it.

You know something….you are an immature dope. Who are you to say who is the biggest Ozzy fan is. I have been a fan longer than you have and I own thousands of dollars worth of Ozzy collectibles including….four RIAA certified platinum awards signed to me from Ozzy and I have seen him 28 times in concert and I have met him four times. I DON’T CONSIDER MYSELF A BIGGER FAN THAN YOU OR KATIE. I CONSIDER MYSELF A FAN AND THATS IT!!! Why do you have to have such a stupid attitude about who is a bigger fan. That is really childish for someone who is suppose 31 years old. Another thing…..who are you to say what questions are stupid? I e-mailed Katie directly and she told me about many of the questions she asked over the course of the one hour interview and she asked some amazing questions. If you want to blame anyone, blame MTV for editing in that question. THATS ONE QUESTION OUT OF MANY! I think you are just VERY jealous of a great girl who got lucky and met her favorite rockstar.
