Believe it or noy mtv actually played Ozzy’s I just want you video and followed it up with a live version of paranoid! I know they have played it before but hardly ever. Two videos later they played Megadeaths Syphony of Destruction, Haven’t seen that for 2 or 3 years on the ball. Of course it was 3:ooam eastern time but it’s better then not at all! Maybe there is a little hope for MTV after all!!!!!

Response:

The only thing worth watching on MTV is Jenny McCarhty and Beavis and Butthead. I can’t handle watching 24 hours of Alterna-tards to see one Maybe two Ozzy video (please forgive me Ozz) MTV is a Bunch of coorperate bullshit, look what its Done to Metallica! Dave Brown

Response:

on a interview he did with tv guide last june he replied that he only watches mtv for beavis and butthead because mtv doesn’t believe in variety and also watches married with children I have the wavs of the interview if anyone is interested and a wav of him singing the theme song to married with children. Could someone please post MTV’s e-mail adress.  I don’t watch, and know of no other way to get the adress.  Thanx.

Response:

>"fuck-off, metal >sucks"

I think they actually meant "fuck off, metal doesn’t make nearly as much money as niggers’ music, and money is all we care about, and we don’t give a fuck about good music" Sad but true… Rodrigo

Response:

You are a raceist stupid son of a bitch! MTV plays to much Rap & not enough Ozzy but there is no need to say stupid shit like that, Rodrigo. You sick fukin Nazi! May you be cursed by the Magik of Cimeries! Hail SaTan!

But hey. Everything goes in cycles. Why not send signals to highlight the inevitable? Like, so that the subconscious of several dumb savants reads (in sing-song rhyme: "It’s Tiii-mme!) And suddennly, Ozzy & metal hits the programing schedule like mint-juleps at the Kentucky Derby.    ~Suzanne~ (who ingested a few refreshments while cleaning house & listening to "Never Say Die".) *Take a trip to the OzzMania Zone* http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Lounge/6255/

I sent them a request to play metal and I got back a "fuck-off, metal sucks" response from those assholes. Three of my friends did the same and got similar responses, the only way to handle this is to keep sending requests for metal and they will soon give in:)

I don’t think writing to Mtv will do anything to change the situation.  Mtv is in such a powerfull position that they can dictate to the world (or at least all the 12 year olds watching) what is and isn’t cool.  I admire people for trying but I’m afraid that it is a lost cause.     I truly beleive that Mtv is not at all concerned about what the viewers want.  Is there any sane person who really wants to watch and entire day of Road Rules or the Real World.    The only thing we can hope for is that some other music channel rises up and gives Mtv some cmpetition.  The situation now is as if there was only one television station in the world.  That station could program anything it wanted to because people would have no other channels to watch. Suzanne, the thing is I’m really afraid rock/metal will never be back again like it was in the 80’s. This music wasn’t violent or anything stupid like that. It was just about rockin’ and having fun. I can’t resist the Ozzy, the RATT, the Warrant, etc..  But let’s hope this (rap)music quickly leaves MTV, you know. Well we just have to look back and smile. 80’s metal and those great videos made me and must of us happy. Fred

What about SuperRock on MTV?Don’t anybody here watch that? It’s great, last Monday they player Paranoid live from the hammersmith 78. and some live clips with ozzy and what i believe is his joe holmes band. man that bassist is NOT cool. and they also played Back on earth, a Pantera tune, coal chamber, fear factory, some unknown bands, alice in chains and some more. the only negative thing about it is Julia Valet. Man she sucks. I recorded it the first time and when i wathced it i was like "did i accidentilly(spelling?) record som porn movie instead of SuperRock martin the undertow "i don’t walk on water" — ozzy osbourne http://surf.to/undertow

Headbangers ball was awesome..but in reality, the reason MTV is shifting away from all guitar oriented things now is because those albums aren’t selling.  Ther younger generation is so jaded towards the 80’s that they won’t buy any records of bands that sound like them…it’s true..check billboards website..it’s all hip-hop and movie soundtracks…it’s pretty sad now, but things will shift..hell ozzy’s already got a small movement with ozzfest.. I think metal (hardcore-pantera-tool ect..)  will eventually be "in" and that should pave the way for rock and more guitar music….it oculd take awhile..we probably have 3-4 more years of this shit at least then we’ll all be lovin MTV and all the hip-hop people will be dissing it.. just some thoughts alex – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >Hey, I agree with you totally, Fred! I really don’t know.  Probably.  Most people who listen to Ozzy (or for that matter, anything that isn’t "cool" right now, from Ozzy to the Clash to Slayer to older Metallica) have given up on MTV, so all that is left to support MTV are the people who think "WOW.. Mase looks SO HOT in this video!!" and "R. Kelly is a REALLY COOL ‘musician’!" and such.

Metal Edge :mentioned months ago a TV station called MTV rocks is coming out where they :play all rock videos. What happened to that? There is a station that came out that is like a spin-off of MTV that plays great metal videos once in a while.  This station is called M2 and I get it through my satellite feed on PrimeStar.  I saw a video for "Neon Knights" by Black Sabbath and about shit! >>>>>>>>>WICKED WORLD<<<<<<<<<<

Piss on Mtv,forget about them. We all know they suck, $$$ is more important and jumping on a bandwagon then ever staying true to something. Might as well be BET2 or USA network IMO.

Here’s an idea.  For total request, we should all call in or e-mail MTV and request something by a good metal band.  Maybe Ozzy, maybe not just Ozzy but some other band that’s good.  I wonder if a number of people from this, or other, ngs began flooding MTV with e-mail, if they’d change their tune any. Has it been done before? > Fred

Actally, I think that there is a radio station that is even more pathetic than MTV. The swedish "rock"  radio station Bandit. I remember for a couple a years ago. My sister(that made me a rock fan) always listened to Bandit. Then it was alot of Metallica, some Pantera, alot of old rock like Sabbath, Ozzy and Zeppelin I think. But around 95 they started playing soft stuff. and now they play Hanson alot, I mean Hanson, Mmmmmmmmmmbop!! Is that rock? Alanis Morisette gets alot of airplay too. They don’t even play alternative nowadays. I sent an e-mail for about a year ago and asked them why they don’t play Metallica anymore(like, Load and Re-Load is to heavy for them) and they said "There is more people that don’t want to hear them than there is people that want to here them" Pathetic!! martin the undertow "i don’t walk on water" –ozzy osbourne http://surf.to/undertow
