Question:
I agree if ya gotta replace it anyway, get a TH400 outof a big beast from the 70s. It sounds like youll need a new driveshaft anyway.

I sit corrected! I was sure that it had both but went and looked and sure enough, it is only done in the Chevy pattern. — Bob May Remember that computers do exactly what you tell them to do, not what you think that you told them! Bob May

one of those behind any number of engines would be a great combo

Hey all I am in the process of obtaining a free 1984 4door buick Lesabre, Its mine if I want it. It needs an engine and transmission The 307 ci blew its self up and the 350 turbo decided it didnot need a third gear. In my opinion this would make the ultimate sleeper hotrod. Does anyone know what body style this car it. I think its a G body style but am unsure. If it is would the Grand National suspension parts fit (ie antisway bars, shocks etc). Some other questions . Is the 307 bellhousing on the transmission the same as the 350?? Are the exhaust manifolds the same on the 307 as the 350. meaning do the bolt holes on the manifold line up on the 350 heads. I dont want to run headers because of the emissions. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. THAnk you…

It is a small block so everything that works on the 307 will work on a 350.

Warning, there are two patterns on SBC engines – the Chevy pattern and the BOP pattern. Newer trannies like the TH200-4R and the TH700-R4 have both patterns on the mounting flange so you can use either. — Bob May Remember that computers do exactly what you tell them to do, not what you think that you told them!
