Actually, I don’t think Metallica’s singer Hetfield would have drowned if he’d gone solo. Cause he writes almost all the lyrics, makes the songs and play the guitar not very far away from Randy or Iommi skills.

It always was Ozzy who always made the band for the most part. Sure Randy Rhoads was the greatest, but would I have ever heard him without Ozzy? No. Tony Iommi came up with some great songs, but would I have ever listened to Black Sabbath without Ozzy? No. Do I listen to Black Sabbath without Ozzy? No. There’s something about Ozzy’s voice that’s great. He gives the feeling of tension without screaming or whatever it is Phil Anselmo does and everyone else seem to be doing now. Ozzy may not be technically the best singer in the world, but he’s still the Pavarotti of metal.
