Question:
OMG! I never went to those motel after parties but I heard about several. What a blast! I heard about some at the Holiday Inn too…man wish I’d have gone. Thats how the Seattle stay was, the whole place was people partying. What a kick! I use to "cruise" Pioneer Courthouse" (before it was the square) back in the day. My blue Chevelle thinkin me & my hotshit friends were just real hot rocker heavy metal bitches. LoL Fact, I saw a bunch of headbangers hanging out so we screamed out the windows & I rear-ended some snooty jerk right there in front of them. Did you ever hang out at Mt Tabor? Washington Park? Metal still rules! My husband is a drummer in a band, they call it "classic rock" but it’s all good old heavy metal & hard rock (Metallica, AC-DC, Scorps some Ozzy). I can still get away with it … Plus I have that 80’s hair-band hair by nature. I bought my first drum set last summer (finally) trying to learn to play so I can get up and jam a few tunes with the band before I’m too f’n old. lol Tah – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> Nah, the skinheads never skated, I was saying it was US who skated. > Old school, down at Pioneer Square. > Yeah, I do remember that Ozzy concert at the coliseum. Nah, the skinheads never skated, I was saying it was US who skated. Old school, down at Pioneer Square. Yeah, I do remember that Ozzy concert at the coliseum. I just need my memory jogged once in a while. I remember that we had a motel room at that thrasher little motel across the parking lot of the coliseum. Damn, FriBri is a name I hadn’t thought of in years. I used to go to shows at Pine St. Theater back in the early 80’s, I used to go to shows like Exciter, Overkill, Mercyful Fate, Anthrax, Venom, Wild Dogs, Riot, and all other old metal bands. I lived in Lincoln City then, and my buddy Harvey and I used to spend the weekends in Portland going to shows, skating and hanging out at Pioneer Square. We knew Fri Bri then, and also hung out with Ken Death. Ken went on to become Ken Metzker……and, well you may know the rest. Anyway, I remember being at a party back around ‘84 or so, after a Mentors show. I remember him being there, and there were these dudes in the kitchen, all drunk and raging. There was a big dude at the table drinkin like 16 beers, with another guy taking his picture. I said, ‘Who is that?’ And FriBri says "Hey, Man, don’t you know? That’s ElDuce Man! Ahhh, the memories. Chances are probably pretty good you were there too. Back in the day. RIP FriBri, One cool dude..

Some other names from that period: Shannon Madson…. Arnold Shoemaker….. Rick Freund…. Billy Bake ‘em….. And all those skinheads from East Side White Pride. I remember the Metallica show when James Hetfield started chanting "Fuck the Coliseum! Fuck the Coliseum! We will Never Play The Coliseum!!" That was back when they fucking ruled. Back when they had Cliff. Now they suck. Anyway, I’m sure Fryin Brian was there for THAT show.

Right on! Thanks for sharing! Man, so many stories! Has was a riot! You know, there were always so many people coming up to him, he loved it. He felt like a rock star. I swear he would get mobbed everywhere. We went to Seattle for Guns & Roses/Iron Maiden and he was mobbed by people whio knew him.I couldn’t believe it but was use to it and they would all tell me about a party or concert. It was weird but everyone loved him & he just had that big huge smile. Even KUFO (Dogface) said "no way Fribri died? He’s a legend!" he played a 2hr Ozzy/Sabbath tribute for him. Joe Metal? Cruella? Acey Duecy? Body Bag? I remember the skin heads, they rode skateboards? The Sweaty Nipples, some major parties in the Portland mansions, 23rd & Ash? The Starry Nite and Pine Street YES! LoL There were so many people and concerts, I’m sure we were all there crossing paths. Bri took me to my first Sabbath concert (Van Halen’s 1st tour opening for them in 78) and then also all the Ozzy & Ozfests and so many other metal concerts, we were always a huge mob. Don’t know how but he always always got front row or the best kickass seats (remember festival seating?) Oh, that in fact was the first 96Ozfest…the moshpit show in the Coliseum? Where Ozzy had to keep the lights on & everyone went nuts? That was great! Bri loved Ozzy like no one I have ever seen, he was the ultimate fan, we always said if we ever got married we’d have to rent the Coliseum to fit all our "friends" and then we’d change our last name to "OzRulz" -LoL His friend from grade school gave the farewells, he nailed it. It was really cool "Randy Rhodes, Jimmy Hendrix, Bon Scott and John Bonham all were waiting there with front row tickets to see Brian"…(He was even cremated in his "Retirement Sucks" tour shirt). The whole thing was so awesome and real. I was happy that his family trusted all his friends plan the funeral service so it was really him and his spirit and not just his parents only perception of a son. The funeral was amazing, it was more like a concert must have been 300 there. Ozzy’s Momma I’m coming home started playing everyone started crying & some left. We threw a huge wake for him on Mt. Scott and everyone barked at the moon at 9:00 I made a huge oak cross and had everyone sign it and put my Ozzy figure Bri got me on top of it and planted where he died. Fri Bri for ever! ~T
