The Doors was a good one.  Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, Def Leppard, and "whatever" by Godsmack is good.

Response:

My faves would be: Fleetwood Mac or Steve Nicks when I am depressed, yet some of their songs can also get me wound up and going, same with Hole and The Offspring. —            *moto* crusty demon wannabe

I like all kinds of things and my disc collection probably screams "bipolar"! I like a lot that’s been mentioned, including Supertramp, Van Morrison, Pink Floyd, Tracy Chapman, AEROSMITH, Lenny Kravitz, Imperial Drag, Ella Fitzgerald, The Jackson Five, The Allman Brothers, Mozart, you name it I have it.  Or I steal it from my brother or my boyfriend.  They know about it though.  Something that’s great, driving music that really can get you movin is The Tragically Hip.  They’re a Canadian Band and they are awesome.  Probably don’t get much publicity there but they did appear on Letterman? Roz PS Music is one of my favorite hobbies (listening to, I also sing) and anybody who wants to e-mail me privately about bands they’ve discovered recently, I’d be happy about that!

oh my word, how cute!  especially liked the pokemons near the bottom. darling! As for the original question: My musical taste tends to run more toward the DJ Shadow, MC Solaar, Nashville Pussy, Supersuckers end of things, when in a good mood.  Oh, and Prince – "Sexy Motherfu#$er," especially. For sad moods, though, I HIGHLY recommend you check out Bach’s Suites for Cello, Dirty Three and Not Drowning Waving. For angry moods, Iggy Pop’s (I guess technically it’s Iggy & the Stooges) Raw Power works for me. Oh, yeah, for any & all moods, Jeff Buckley.  Always Jeff Buckley. Love, love love, Gina p.s. Dark Side of the Moon over the Wall. Definitely.

Eric Clapton’s soundtrack to the movie "Rush" played loud is exquisite.  You can see the music (no, kids, I’m not psychotic!) through some genius in its structure.  The first half is instrumental and it’s the best part.  It’s a very satisfying album when you feel like hell. I personally stay away from Peter Gabriel’s stuff because, although I love it, it can almost trigger an episode.  I swear he’s bipolar – it comes through in the cadences of his music and it really hits nerves for me.  Anyone else feel this with his music?

You know Evenstar, either Pink Floyd pick would be a good choice.  In fact, I cannot believe the recent flood of Pink Floyd back onto the radio playlist, mostly from The Wall.  I know Ketch is a big fan, and she knows music.  So ask her next time you see her.   My most recent cd purchases, that gets constant replay at my house includes, John (Cougar) Mellencamp’s latest.  I play trac 4–"I am not running anymore" upbeat, gets me moving.  then comes trac 5, cuz i am busy now doing something, "It all comes true" (what you believe about yourself, it all comes true…is the message)  trac 6 –Eden is Burning–this song is the followup to one of his first hits in the eighties, "Jack and Diane"  it reminds me of when "Jack and Diane" would get airplay in the eighties, it is summer, and my husband is then there is now.   Then i think i need a bucket of water, to put out the fire(Eden is Burning) and try to remember summer of 1982 and how i got to 1999. Music is so important to mental health, the tone of our music choices can influence our moods.   I am also having fun listening to the lyrics of a band called, Bare band’s name BNL, offensive, but they chose it, cuz what better way to get attn, than to post BARE NAKED LADIES on a club marquee.  After getting to know their music style, i cannot think of a more appropriate name to describe the all male band.
