Question:
I’m looking for a really good amp (good condition with little or moderate use) for 200 bucks or under, or a GREAT amp for 250 or under. I’m 14 (hence the limited budget) and would be using it for my garage band. I’m looking for power, nice distortion, and did I say power. Will look at all offers. Please respond by email to Brian. Thanks

My advice is, if you can con your parents into it, spend the money and get a GREAT amp. That way you don’t need to worry about it in the future. When I was 14 I had a shitty Crate 60 watt, and it would go in and out, and just fuck up a lot. Many a show I had to borrow amps, or play accoustic because of it. Then I shelled out 500 and got a Fender Twin Reverb, and it was the best investment ever. It’s loud (it over powers by bassist and singer on the 2 setting!!), it has a great kick, and the on board distortion is better then a lot of the pedals I’ve heared. Tell your parents the more you spend now, the less you wil later! Take care -patrick Marton

I have the new model. 2 channels
It’s nice. It was definatly worth spending the money on. Almost made me wish I had gotten a Telecaster to play through it instead of a Les Paul

Get yourself a Peavey Bandit. They’re cheap and the distortion could floor a buffalo at 100 paces. Best of all, they’re damn loud. Of course it depends what music you’re playing… for metal, a bandit is spot on. If you wanna play jazz or something though, definitely not a bandit!!! Could be… Are you from the states? I once got a Fender Champ and it sounds amazing. It’s the peppiest little amp I’ve ever played (note I said "little"). I’ve graduated to a 100 watt Marshall, but once in a while I still go back to my Fender Champ ’cause it can still rock. The clean tone is Fender clean (unparalleled), and the dirty tone is good too, though if you get one, consider getting a distortion pedal. My champ ran me about $300 CDN so it’s probably well within your price range. Good luck, Micah
