Hi Max, If you have access to two videos, Miles Davis with Marcus Miller on Bass playing the tunes of TUTU or John Pattitucci playing with Ivan Lins, those are my two favourites, I would advise it. There is an old video where Stanley Clarke play accoustic with Miles whihc is also interesting but it is accoustic. peace, Mario Treglia Tokyo/JAPAN PS: if you are more in the line of rock n’roll, Geddy Lee in the early stages of RUSH has some very good solos.

Check out the bass solo on My Generation by the Who and (Anesthesia)-Pulling Teeth by Cliff Burton on Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All. Both tabs for those songs are on my web-page you should check them out. — http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Stage/2081

There are millions of solos out there do yourself a favor and buy a Jaco Pastorius and Victer Wooten album and it might just change the way you view music. These two guys will spin your head around. I use to be very much into metal and Cliff I thought he was a god. Now I don’t think he is anybody. Jaco is a little bit harder to listen to then Victer. Go out and Buy a Show of Hands by Vic and he will probaly open you up to a whole new world of bass plaing and music.

Since you guys are mentioning Geezer and Cliff B., I guess you mean ROCK bass solos, since of course there are thousands of incredible jazz bass solos! Some classic rock bass solos (to my ears, anyway): "Bouree" by Jethro Tull (Glenn Cornick) "Mr. Big" by Free (live version, Andy Fraser) "Nantucket Sleighride" by Mountain (live version from "The Road Goes Ever On", Felix Pappalardi) "My Generation" by the Who (John Entwistle) "Mann’s Fate" by Hot Tuna (Jack Casady) "All American Alien Boy" by Ian Hunter (Jaco Pastorius!!!) — Brian Rost 3Com Corp. 978-264-1550 Monkey Island: a dance band for the new millenium
