Question:
OK…I’m on the west coast so unless there are any Alaska or Hawaii posters, I’m finishing off our 4th of July. Got up at 3am to drive to LAX to pick up a friend coming back from Hawaii. Came home & managed an hour of sleep. Headed out to our local stadium for a game between the single "A" farm teams for the Angels and the Mariners. And the home team won of course. A few beers, a b-b-q beef sandwich and fireworks afterwards. What a good day. Not used to drinking so hope I can get up tomorrow, but I resisted the temptation to go out to the local dive and finish the night off and probably really get into trouble. A little thunder & lightning. A bit of rain. Heat & humidity. Baseball & beer. A good day. I even managed to feel a little patriotic! caroly~vonne

i had a good day yesterday too; that is, my husband and I did; we went to the Montreal Jazz Festival; i meant to tell Peter – hey Peter - you should have been there – you would have loved it; It was a dry, breezy 75 degrees or so, the stages were set up everywhere around Place des Arts in the heart of the city, and we went to hear and see KINGFISH; this band KINGFISH – they were so amazingly alive – their specialty is Louisiana Cajun music – you could see they were enjoying themselves playing ; dressed to kill in loud, colourful, beaded shirts, some strumming on Washboards, i think they were metal, bullet proof washboards lol; and their stage was so nice – lit up with neon rainbows behind them; they played for an hour maybe two, and they were capable of quite a range – including one of my favourite TRAFFIC tunes – some Dr. John stuff, French cajun music and their own material. It was really nice under the summer sky and the huge crowds were dancing in the street. Montreal goes nuts in the summer. Free. Squiggles
