Question:
Please post bass tab for Rush Limbaugh theme. The bass rocks! Thanks! -Rob
Response:
Just FYI, that limbaugh "theme" is Back to Ohio by the Pretenders…and i PREFER to think that they don’t approve of his use!
Response:
I believe the song Rush uses for the intro to his radio show is by the Pretenders and is called "Ohio". Not sure of that title but someone out there should know for sure. Kobe |> Please post bass tab for Rush Limbaugh theme. The bass rocks! |> |> Thanks! |> |> -Rob |> — Karl Oberlander

Watch out! I made a joke about how the president may possibly not be re-elected and would therefore might be available to play with an Arkansas band and received a smokin’, red-hot, flame. Maybe it has something to do with the election season. Bruce

thanks Bruce for the friendly warning! But let’s not forget that Limbaugh wasn’t elected to anything…just another clown on the radio.
Response:
The song to which everyone is referring is called "My City Was Gone"; it’s on the "Learning To Crawl" record (their last good album, IMO). — Arte K.

Say it isn’t true. I’ve never heard Rush’s radio show, but now I have one more reason to avoid it… hearing the Pretenders misused in such a fashion… that’s worse than when people thought "Born in the USA" was nice and patriotic and never noticed any of the words. Then again, "spend half your life just to cover it up" does make a good line for your average political rally… Anyway, if you want to hear the song (which really DOES have a great bassline), get "Learning to Crawl," the third Pretenders LP (and the last really great one IMHO). The song in question is actually called "My City was Gone" (though the first line is "I went back to Ohio…") I wonder if Rush thinks Chrissie Hynde is a Feminazi? –ennead.

Not so pea brain. He weilds a tremendous emount of influence. Even more than the media elite of the "major" networks. He is a character and quite entertaining, you might want to actually listen in sometime before you make sweeping generalizations like that last one. Bass players are usually the most conservative members in any band, rock solid! Somebody has to hold the line while those guit-a-baiters whammy their stuff to roof and back. — Karl Oberlander

That’s exactly right and the irony is that the song decries the "development" of Chrissie’s hometown of Cleveland. Limbaugh has gotten some static from conservatives who think he shouldn’t use a pro-environmentalist song as his theme music. He could use "Dittohead" by Slayer, though. That song certainly is in-line with his views……. I’d like to see Rush’s fat ass getting kicked in the mosh pit…some Doc Martin in his fanny…a hardcore punk extinguishes a cigarette in the sweat on his forhead…hmmm…I think I have an idea for our next show…. Anyone know where I can get an overweight male manniquin?? You really don’t think Crissy and crew are sad about receiving all those checks from ASCAP or BMI do you? If so you’re more stupid than the rest of your post makes you seem.
