Chris Barnes Better in Corpse Or Six Feet Under? Death Metal fans reply!

Question:

To all you Death Metal fans, just wondering if anyone thinks Chris new band Six Feet Under is darker than corpse? Sure the music is alot simpler, because he doesn’t have Alex Webster to write these insane riffs for him to sing over, but but overall the music is just a hell of alot darker and moody. Any feedback? Jolly Spamhead, The sun is shining on a brand new day Blackened corpses smolder where they were slain Self-flagellation prompts him to confess Bless me father, for I made this mess The costs of swimming is too grand Dare god save me from this terrible drugland

Response:

Yes, I definately agree that SFU is darker than Corpse. As a matter of fact, I’ll go out on a limb here and say that I like SFU even better. I must also add, however, that "haunted" and "warpath" were better than this last effort (I cannot rememeber the name) I do think they should get some credit for doing some covers of songs other than old death favorites. Like "grinder" "wrathchild"..and a death version od jailbreak is pretty cool too…. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >To all you Death Metal fans, just wondering if anyone thinks Chris new >band Six Feet Under is darker than corpse? : To all you Death Metal fans, just wondering if anyone thinks Chris new : band Six Feet Under is darker than corpse? Sure the music is alot : simpler, because he doesn’t have Alex Webster to write these insane : riffs for him to sing over, but but overall the music is just a hell : of alot darker and moody. Any feedback? I haven’t heard Six Feet Under, but anybody could easily be darker than Corpse, as they were a lot more violent than dark. They used lots of high notes and speedy riffs that gave them that edgy, in-your-face strength but not darkness. I would turn to Amorphis for darkness, or maybe select songs from Morbid Angel’s catalog but steer clear of corpse. —                      Javier Gonzalez Nicolini       Ingenieria Civil en Computacion – Universidad de Chile          "Ley de Murphy: Todo lo que puede salir mal sald            Signature: Segmentation fault (core dumped)"
