Question:
Hello! I’m looking for place to find extensive listing of concerts and touring bands in Australia. Ticketek has some concerts listed but not all. Their service is not working very well. For example Air NZ advertizes to fly someone to see Smashing Pumpkins in Sydney in June but I can’t find information about this gig anywhere. I’m asking since I’m flying to Sydney mid June for 3 weeks. Any recommendations to find out about gigs in east coast? Ville — *Ville Pietikainen *

Try Ticketmaster’s Australian website — it’s linked to the U.S. Ticketmaster site. Ticketmaster (we call them Tickebastard because of their service fees) is the largest ticket agency in the U.S. I’m sure you’ve heard of them. http://www.ticketmaster.com.au/index.idc http://events.ticketmaster.com/ If you’re looking for Smashing Pumpkins gigs in particular, try Pollstar concert listings — they seem pretty up to date and accurate. The URL http://www.pollstar.com/ I just saw Smashing Pumpkins open a show for my favorite band, Cheap Trick, at Metro in Chicago. That was the first time I’d seen SP, and they were pretty good.
Good luck! ,.-
