Frizzle Fry: – Groundhog Day – To Defy the Laws of Tradition Anything off Frizzle Fry. It just rocks. Some of the other albums really get on my nerves. Funny.. . I was looking through all the CDs at my house to rotate into my work / car mix and I grabbed Frizzle Fry this morning. Haven’t listened to it yet. Maybe I’ll have more suggestions after I do. Jordan

NIB is a great cover, but hardly representative of Primus. Hell, Ozzy sings it himself. These are the songs I’d recommend for the first time listener: Tommy the Cat My Name Is Mud Antipop Harold of the Rocks To Defy The Laws of Tradition Wynonna’s Big Brown Beaver Jerry Was a Racecar Driver And I would also recommend Les’ solo version of Hot Rod Lincoln, available on some NASCAR compilation album but easily downloaded from most file sharing sites. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->Heck yeah, that’s great cover!!! >Wes > He does a nice cover of the song *N I B* on the Black Sabbath tribute CD > *Nativity in Black 2* > o&o > SC > > I wanna see what this Claypool guy is all about. > > Thanks. > > — > > Steve, eh? > > O< "Don’t like it? I really hate how when they play the NIB cover on the radio, they cut out the bass intro, which is the best part of the song. Bass players never get any respect.
Response:
Tommy The Cat My Name is Mud. Put up an e-mail addy and I’ll e-mail a wild live version of Tommy The Cat to you. P

The first Primus tune I ever heard was Mr. Knowitall. It definitely caught my attention in a good way. Jordan

Then why primus? claypool’s done a lot of stuff with several projects. My personal current fav is frog brigades live rendition of Pink Floyd’s Animals (the whole album!) to be honest… not really my cup of tea in general though radapaw, eh?

Greatest Primus song ever, "John the Fisherman" from "Suck on this." RD

I haven’t listened to much Primus, but check out Oysterhead. I saw the Frog Brigade several months ago. It was great fun, but I left during the encore. Two and a half hours with the same marimba solo started to wear on me; as well as standing next to the mosh pit. There sure were some weird folks there.

Yes.

Yup. Well… Les did. I like Anti-Pop for it’s musicality, but "Jerry Was A Race Car Driver" is what it’s all about. There used to be a sample video of it on the primussucks web site IIRC. — O> /() ^^

That’s exactly why you go to Primus instead of Claypool in Oysterhead or solo. Primus is a killer band. Les elsewhere kind of blows.
