Cheers, I’m still tron whether to buy some form of treble booster to give me more highs, or spend 2-3 times the money on a new set of pickups. I prefer active pickups anyway so I might just bite the bullet. Cheers, Jon.

You’re absolutely right about no humbucker being able to re-create the Strat bridge pickups sound – ain’t in their nature, any more than a Strat single-coil can re-create the Gibson humbucker sound. Possible replacing the bridge pickup on the Gibson with a tapped-coil humbucker might give him the best of both worlds – just a thought. I haven’t listened to much Primus, but check out Oysterhead. I saw the Frog Brigade several months ago. It was great fun, but I left during the encore. Two and a half hours with the same marimba solo started to wear on me; as well as standing next to the mosh pit. There sure were some weird folks there.

Zakk did come out on stage with Pantera during one of those shows. I’ve seen an mpeg of it. He didn’t jam with them though (at least in the clip), it was just him walking out on stage with his rottweiler and being introduced.

BLS’ first release was 98 or 99, but GNR was around 97. When I saw BLS around the release of their 2nd album in 2000, I had the honor of hanging out with Zakk after the show. He was telling stories of this and that, and the GnR thing came up at one point. It was within a few years of that point. Zakk said ultimately he didn’t join because Axl is just an asshole who couldn’t get anything done.

Ozz & Zakk had a falling out prior to that, though. As they recorded Ozzmosis, I’ve read they almost never even saw each other throughout the whole process. Then later on Zakk was in talks w/Axl about joining Gn’R.

This all happend after ozzmosis was released. Zak bailed on the tour, he was wanting to a solo thing before the guns gig was presented to him. The GNR thing fell trough then Zakk started Black Label society. Ozzy begged him to play guitar on the last album after he realized Holmes was an average player. BTW the new BLS album fuckin smokes!.

Joe was definitely at OzzFest 2000, I got a signed 8×10 and a picture with him. But as far as Zakk playing w/Pantera goes, it was either a one-show thing or didn’t happen.

You missed your window of opportunity on that bad boy, since it was featured in "There’s Something About Mary." That would have been the time. So, pay attention to what oldies are showing up in popular movies, and do those. Whole careers were made on covering Motown after "The Big Chill" came out.

My straps came loose and the whole bass came crashing down on stage…luckily no damage done…but the connector (is that the right name for it ?) from the cable was snapped in half, and now the top 5mm (about 1/4" inch) of the metal tip is stuck in the jack…i’ve already tried using tweezers and opening up the back….neither to any avail…. any suggestions on what i can do right now short of taking it to a repair shop (which i’m pretty sure i’ll have to do) ? thanx, Ray
