speaking of Jake, I finally anty’d up and purchased his latest offering from last year, a Fine Pink Mist. Have only listened to it once (still trying to absorb Brutal Truth
, I’ll give a few more listens and post a brief opinion.

Has anybody heard Jake’s stuff from the days when he was in Ratt? That would be more interesting than Badlands for me. What ever happened to that band? Did Pearl Jam & Nirvana have them killed or something?

After 2 albums with Badlands (with now-deceased former Black Sabbath singer Ray Gillan), the last thing I heard about Jake doing was a Japanese release called A Fine Pink Mist. I have no idea what it’s like. — -eric – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >What is Jake up to now?????

Mediocre????? You’ve got to be kidding. His playing on those albums is better than anything he ever did with Ozzy. Not saying the Ozzy stuff wasn’t good. I just think he finally got to play like himself rather than what Ozzy wanted. Didn’t the singer from Badlands die a few years ago???? Tony

I haven’t heard Jake’s Badlands material, but I heard it was actually pretty good. Besides Badlands, about a year or two ago, Jake released an instrumental album called A Fine Pink Mist (or something to that effect). As far as I know, it was only released in Japan. As far as the Zakk comment goes, I love his solo stuff, especially Book of Shadows. Personally, I prefer Shadows over his Ozzy stuff. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been all that much industry support behind Zakk or his releases, so his albums might end up in the cheap bins. Randy

Well it’d be awesome but I’m sure they never will. While they were together, Ozzy’s drinking was at an all time high and they didn’t get along that well, i mean they didn’t fight or anything, they just couldn’t hit it off. I also think Jake E Lee is underrated since he was between Randy Rhoads and long-time axe-man Zakk Wylde. Bark at the Moon and Ultimate Sin house some of the best songs of the eighties in my opinion. Jake is one of the world’s top guitarists. — "Never use a big word where a diminutive one will suffice." Eric Nordquist 204-487-6445

Agree! Ultimate Sin was a heck of an album!! RODRIGO
Response:
Jake plays on my favorite Ozzy album Bark At The Moon. It would be great to get them to do another album together but I doubt it.
Response:
Jake Lee played with total fire on bark at the moon. It seems as if he lost his inspiration as time went by. #1 Randy #2 Jake # 3 Zakk #4 Brad #5 Joe Derek Sherinian

Response:
Jake was a good player but his solos left a lot to be desired. Especially on Bark at the Moon. The solo on that song just rambles on and goes and ends nowhere. I did recently see him on The Ultimate Ozzy video and his playing live is very good for the most part. His playing on Ultimate Sin is good but many tracks sound the same. Just my opinion. And I disagree that Zakk was up there with Randy. Randys playing was MUCH more classical influenced than Zakks. And much more advanced. Don’t get me wrong Zakk is a great guitarist. And a great songwriter as shown by his solo album Book of Shadows. Not to mention the tunes on Pride and Glory. But Rhoads was in a class by himself and likely will always be. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >Hey, Joe Holmes in an OK guitarist, and Zakk was up there with Randy >IMO, but do you all think Ozzy would ever work with Jake again? Can someone tell me why Ozzy never talks about any of his time spent with Jake E. Lee. It’s like a big hole in his life which he has pushed aside never to be remembered again. What’s it all about ? Bern
