Question:
> My eight month old kitten knocks over the water bowl everyday. What can > I do to stop him from doing it again?
I don’t know, but when you find out, let me know! My newest feline, Herrie, also does this every day! I gave him a heavier bowl, but he still manages to spill the water, even if it’s only a quarter to a third filled. He seems to have a "thing" for water, in general – more so than my other cats, who can deal with topped-up water bowls, & no spills. Cathy

I use a very large container made of ceramic, one liter size, and also put 16 ice cubes in the water, I change the water every day. In the summer I use a very large pale outside and put a huge rock in the pale I also have a large pale hanging on a hook to a dead tree trunk, this is for the Raccoons and birds. My cats also drink from the bird bath:-) ob. — **** Odette Brown ** I love Cats ***** *** La Belle Province ** Quebec ** CANADA *** *** http://www.igs.net/~rathey/odette1.htm ***

Use something that will secure it (the bowl, not the kitten). I have seen the food & water sets in pet stores that sit in a stand. I use one of the basic (cheap) water dispensers from Wal-Mart. Mine have yet to turn that over… kb.

Response:
Get a heavy stonewear bowl (much more heigenic than plastic anyways) and use that. Or you can do as I do and buy the matching food and water dishes that sit in a little black metal stand. The dishes are stainless steel and unless your cat is hudini they can’t tip those puppies over! I like them so much I have a set for each animal! We bought a REALLY heavy bowl and that seems to have helped A LOT! He stills moves it a little, but not all the way across the kitchen :=) Lisa
